Article Formatting Requirements
Authors must use the journal's official template for manuscript preparation. The template is available for download here: [MS Word Template].
I. General Formatting and Technical Specifications
Page Settings (Microsoft Word):
- Page size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
- Orientation: Portrait
- Margins: Top, Left, Right – 2 cm; Bottom – 2.5 cm
- Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt
- Line spacing: Single
- Alignment: Justified
- Hyphenation: Automatic
- Paragraph indent: 0.75 cm
- Page numbering: Must not be added by the author
- Language: English only
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Length: 12–14 full pages
Column Layout:
- Single column: Used for UDC index, title, author block, abstract, keywords, and references.
- Double column: Used for the main body text (Section break required).
- Each column width: 8.25 cm; Space between columns: 0.5 cm.
Headers and Footers (Prepared by Editorial Office):
- Different headers and footers for odd and even pages are required.
- Header: Line 1: Authors' last names and initials, journal title (10 pt, left-aligned). Line 2: Year and issue number, underlined with a solid line (1.5 pt); 15 pt spacing below.
- Footer: A 1-row, 3-column table with only the top border visible (1 pt) is inserted. First cell contains: ISSN 2617-4316 (Print) and ISSN 2663-7723 (Online) (10 pt, left-aligned; 3 pt spacing before each line).
II. Article Structure
The manuscript should include the following sections (section titles may be adapted to reflect the specific nature of the study, but their function must remain clear):
- INTRODUCTION
- LITERATURE REVIEW AND PROBLEM STATEMENT
- RESEARCH AIM AND OBJECTIVES
- MATERIALS AND METHODS
- RESEARCH RESULTS
- DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
- CONCLUSIONS
- ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (if applicable)
- References – minimum 25 sources, formatted in Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed., Notes and Bibliography) format.
- Author Information in both English and Ukrainian (as a separate block).
III. Title, Author Details, and Article Metadata
- DOI (Digital Object Identifier): Placed on the first line (11 pt, Bold, Left-aligned). Assigned by the Editorial Team.
- UDC (Universal Decimal Classification): Placed on the second line (11 pt, Bold, Left-aligned). Authors must provide the UDC determined using http://www.udcc.org.
- Article Title: Must be concise, clear, and informative, recommended length 6–12 words. 16 pt, Bold, Title Case (major words capitalized), Centered. Leave one blank line above and below.
- Author List (in English):
- Line 1: First name, middle initial, last name with superscript (11 pt, Bold), e.g., Anatoly A. Ivanov¹.
- Line 2: ORCID (link); email; Scopus Author ID (if applicable) — 9 pt, Regular.
- Affiliations: Listed below the authors. Each line includes the institution name, address, city, and country. Authors from the same institution share one superscript. Right-aligned.
IV. Abstract and Keywords
Abstract Requirements:
- The abstract begins with the heading ABSTRACT (Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold, Centered), followed by one blank line.
- The abstract body must be 9 pt, Regular, with a first-line indent of 0.75 cm, Justified.
- Use of numbers, abbreviations (except standard), formulas, tables, or references is strictly prohibited.
- Structure: Relevance, Aim and objectives, Methods used, Results, Conclusions (highlighting novelty and practical value).
- Recommended length: 300–350 words.
Keywords Requirements:
- Begin the line with Keywords: (9 pt, Bold, first-line indent 0.75 cm, Justified), followed by the list on the same line (9 pt, Regular).
- Guidelines: Use 5–6 terms or phrases (each phrase should not exceed two words). Use Nominative Case. No abbreviations. Separate with semicolons (;) without a final period.
V. Citation Text and Article Body
Citation Text Requirements:
- Formatting: 8 pt, Bold, Justified, no first-line indent.
- Begin with For citation: (italicized), followed by the full citation string.
- The final citation text is generated by the Editorial Board after acceptance.
Article Text Requirements:
- The manuscript must be written in clear, correct English (consistent British or American style), free from grammar, spelling, or stylistic errors.
- Section headings: CAPITAL LETTERS, Bold, 11 pt, Center-aligned, with 6 pt spacing Before and After.
- Body text: New paragraph, 0.75 cm first-line indent, Justified, Double-column layout.
Copyright Footer on First Page (Authors’ Responsibility):
- The footer must be added at the bottom of the left column.
- It begins with a 1 pt horizontal line.
- Below the line: © (10 pt, Bold), followed by authors' surnames, initials, and the year of publication (10 pt, Regular), separated by commas.
VI. Language, Punctuation, and Numbering
Language and Usage Conventions:
- Abbreviations and symbols must be used sparingly, and their full form provided at first use.
- The last page of the article must be at least 75% filled. Articles with mostly blank final pages will be rejected.
Punctuation and Numbering Standards:
- Do not use a period after the article title, section headings, table titles, or units of measurement.
- For ordinal indices in variables, use subscript notation (e.g., i, n).
Units, Numbers, and Math Formatting:
- All units must comply with the International System of Units (SI).
- Numbers below ten should generally be written in words.
- Decimals must use a period as a separator (e.g., 0.125). Always include a leading zero (e.g., 0.35). Sentences should not begin with a numeral.
VII. Formula Formatting Guidelines
- Formulas must be typeset using MathType or the native MS Word Equation Editor and be fully editable.
- Placement and Numbering: Each formula must be Centered with no paragraph indentation. Numbered formulas (referenced in the text) must have the number right-aligned, enclosed in parentheses, e.g., (1).
- Punctuation: Formulas must be followed by an appropriate punctuation mark (period, comma, etc.) if they are part of the surrounding sentence structure.
- Notation Rules:
- Latin variable names – Italicized;
- Greek symbols and standard functions (min, max, sin, cos, etc.) – Not italicized;
- Cyrillic characters in formulas are strictly prohibited.
- Submission Requirement: Submissions containing formulas as images or in non-editable formats will not be accepted.
VIII. Figure and Table Formatting Requirements
- Figures, formulas, and tables must follow a single, sequential numbering system (e.g., Fig. 1, Table 2, Eq. 3).
- Figure Caption: Fig. (italic) + figure number + period + figure title starting with a capital letter (Bold). Example: Fig. 2. Results of system modeling (11 pt, Centered).
- Figure Source: Source: + URL or Compiled by the authors, or a reference citation (e.g., [27]) (8 pt, Bold Italic, Centered).
- Table Title: Table (italic) + table number + period + title capitalized (Bold). Example: Table 3. Summary of experimental results (11 pt, Centered).
- Table Source: Source: + https://... or [27], or Compiled by the authors (8 pt, Bold Italic, Centered).
- Tables: Must be created using MS Word’s built-in table tools. If a table spans multiple pages, the table header row must be repeated on subsequent pages, but the caption must not be.
- Figure Labels: Must use Times New Roman 11 pt, with no bold or italics. Captions and labels must not be embedded in the image.
IX. In-Text Citation and Reference List
In-Text Citation Requirements (Chicago: Notes and Bibliography):
- References are enclosed in square brackets: [1], [2], [3], etc.
- Sources are numbered in the order of their first mention in the text.
- References are placed on the line, before the punctuation mark.
- Every source listed in the References must be cited in the text.
Conclusion Requirements: Must be concise, highlight the scientific novelty and practical relevance, and not merely repeat prior content.
Formatting the Reference List:
- Title: REFERENCES (11 pt, Bold, Centered).
- Each entry: 11 pt, 0.75 cm hanging indent, Justified, Single Column.
- Sources are listed alphabetically by the author's last name (unlike the numerical order in the text).
- All entries must be in English. If the original is in another language, the title must be translated into English (not transliterated), and the original language noted at the end: (in Ukrainian).
- Author names: Last name, First name (e.g., Ivanov, Anatoly B.). Multiple authors separated by commas.
- Journal, book, and conference names: Italicized.
- Article titles: In quotation marks, not italicized.
- DOI and URLs must be included if available and placed at the end of the citation.
- Minimum number of sources: 25.
- Self-citations must not exceed 30% of the total list.
- Avoid using local or national standards (e.g., GOST, DSTU).

X. Conclusion Requirements
The Conclusions section must:
- Be directly aligned with the study’s objectives and tasks;
- Be concise and persuasive, summarizing the main results;
- Highlight the scientific novelty and practical relevance of the work;
- Optionally include prospects for future research.
- Conclusions should not merely repeat prior content and must avoid vague generalizations.
XI. Author Information and Submission
- Conflict of Interest Statement: Must be included (e.g., "Conflicts of Interest: The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest.").
- Funding Statement: If applicable, include the full official name of the organization and the project or grant number.
- Submission History: Dates (Received, Received after revision, Accepted) are completed by the Editorial Office.
- Requirements for Providing Article Metadata in Ukrainian:
- Includes: Full name (with full patronymic), Affiliation, Abstract ("Анотація"), Keywords ("Ключові слова"), and Citation information.
- Example: Ivanov Anatolii Andriiovych.
- Author Information Requirements: Information must be provided for all authors in a two-column table (borderless). Column 1: A recent color photo (3x4 cm). Column 2: Text (8 pt font) including full name in Ukrainian/English, academic credentials, position, ORCID, and research interests.
- Article Submission: Online via the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform or by email, provided the manuscript is simultaneously registered on the OJS platform.
- Final Confirmation: By submitting, the author confirms full compliance with journal requirements, exclusive copyright ownership, originality, and consent to pay the APC after acceptance. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make technical and formatting edits without notifying the author.
