Peer Review Process
The Applied Aspects of Information Technology employs a double-blind peer review model to ensure fairness, impartiality, and adherence to the highest academic standards. In this model, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process.
1. Manuscript Submission
1.1. Authors submit their manuscripts.
1.2. To preserve anonymity, all identifying information (e.g., names, affiliations, and acknowledgments) must be removed from the manuscript file.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
2.1. The Editorial Board screens the manuscript for:
- Formatting compliance;
- Relevance to the journal's scope;
- Originality using plagiarism detection tools (e.g., StrikePlagiarism).
2.2. Manuscripts not meeting these basic standards will be subject to desk rejection.
3. Assignment
3.1. The Editor assigns at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
3.2. Reviewers receive a de-identified version of the manuscript.
3.3. Reviewers with conflicts of interest are excluded.
4. Peer Review Evaluation
4.1. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on the following criteria:
- Scientific rigor and methodology;
- Originality and contribution to the field;
- Clarity and structure;
- Accuracy and relevance of references.
4.2. Based on their assessment, reviewers recommend one of the following decisions:
- Accept without revisions;
- Minor revisions required;
- Major revisions required;
- Reject (template of the review).
5. Author Revisions
5.1. If revisions are needed, authors receive anonymous comments and a specified deadline.
5.2. Authors must provide a point-by-point response to all reviewer comments (template of author's response).
6. Final Editorial Decision
6.1. The Editor reviews the revised manuscript and decides whether:
- It meets quality standards and is accepted;
- Further changes are needed (re-review);
- Concerns remain unresolved (rejection).
6.2. The final decision is communicated to the authors.
The double-blind review system ensures objectivity, reduces bias, and enhances trust in the published research. The journal adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) peer review guidelines.
