Diamond Open Access Model

The journal operates under a Diamond Open Access model, which ensures that all published content is freely available to readers worldwide without any subscription or access fees.

Importantly, the journal does not charge authors any fees at any stage of the publication process. There are:

  • no submission fees
  • no article processing charges (APCs)
  • no publication fees

This policy reflects the journal’s commitment to the free dissemination of scientific knowledge and equal opportunities for authors regardless of their financial resources.

Sources of Funding

All costs associated with the editorial and publishing process are fully covered by the journal’s supporting institutions and partners.

The journal is funded by the Computer Systems Institute of Odesa Polytechnic National University.

This financial support ensures the journal's sustainability while maintaining full editorial independence.

Editorial Independence

The sources of funding have no influence on:

  • editorial decisions
  • peer review process
  • acceptance or rejection of manuscripts

All submissions are evaluated solely on the basis of their academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Optional Author Services

The journal may offer additional services to authors, such as:

  • language editing
  • translation
  • formatting and reference styling

These services are entirely optional, provided upon request, and do not affect the editorial decision-making process. Authors are free to use third-party services of their choice.

Transparency and Commitment

The journal adheres to the principles of transparency in scholarly publishing and supports global initiatives promoting open science and equitable access to research.

By adopting the Diamond Open Access model, the journal helps remove financial barriers for both authors and readers and supports the wider dissemination of knowledge.

The Applied Aspects of Information Technology journal ensures prompt article publication while maintaining high academic quality. Upon manuscript acceptance, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC), which covers:

  • Plagiarism checking using StrikePlagiarism software;
  • Formatting the manuscript to match the journal layout;
  • Filling in technical metadata (DOI, indexing, etc.);
  • Basic publishing expenses (e.g., Crossref, hosting).

The minimum APC is 2.5 EUR per page (or the equivalent in UAH).

Please note that Article Processing Charges are subject to periodic review and revision.

APC Waiver Policy

The journal supports early-stage researchers and ensures equitable access to scholarly publishing.

Authors who are PhD students (third cycle of higher education) enrolled in a state-funded study program are fully exempt from any fees related to the processing, peer review, and publication of articles, provided that:

  • the article is authored solely by the PhD student;
  • the manuscript is submitted without co-authors;
  • the research was conducted within the framework of the author’s doctoral studies.

The waiver applies to all stages of editorial processing, including manuscript handling, peer review, and final publication.

Additional Services (Upon Request)

At the request of authors, the Editorial Office can provide additional services not included in the basic APC, specifically:

  • Typesetting of mathematical formulas using MathType: from 25 UAH per page with formulas (depending on the number and complexity);
  • Translation into English: 100 UAH per 1,800 characters;
