Peer review process

Each article is reviewed in three stages

At the first stage, technical expertise is carried out, including checking for plagiarism. Articles with a low level of originality, i.e. full or partial plagiarism and self-plagiarism are rejected. Only original articles not published in other journals / conference proceedings can be published in Applied Aspects of Information Technology. The staff of the magazine maintains a list of copyright infringers, the so-called "black list". Violations are situations in which:

  • authors submit articles that have already been published
  • authors misappropriate other people's manuscripts

The second stage is the review one, which is conducted by the Editorial Board (reviewers) More details...

To assess the quality of submitted manuscripts, the Editorial Board uses double-blind peer review

The third stage is the process of peer review itself. Each article is evaluated by three reviewers. If the result of two reviews is negative, the article is rejected, and the authors are provided with a reasoned refusal with the comments of the reviewers. If one review is negative and the other two are positive, the article is sent to the fourth reviewer

The Article Processing Charge (APC) is a contractual fee charged by a scholarly journal to cover the costs of printing, publishing, metric indexing, and public hosting.

Publicity and method of access: open online access to full-text publications

The Editorial Board explains to potential authors of the journal the nature of unethical academic practice. Reviewers and readers are also informed about the rules to ensure that academic requirements are met. Editors practice the use of peer reviewers to blindly peer all manuscripts and adhere to the guidelines explicitly outlined by COPE http://publicationethics.org
